The Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers Film Festival is the oldest and the most important film festival in the Republic of Macedonia. Inspired by the Manaki brothers, the first cinematographers in the Balkans, it will be held in their honor for the 32nd time this year at the Cultural Center in Bitola from 15 to 21 October.

The essential part of the festival program is Camera 300 – the Official Competition for feature films from the latest European and world production. The top awards are the Golden, Silver and Bronze Camera 300, given for outstanding work in cinematography. The main program includes 10 to 12 films. In addition, there are other sections of the festival covering new visions, short film, documentary film, a children’s program, and the Manaki Brothers Student Program. There are also workshops, seminars, exhibitions and debates.
Major Awards Announced
The winner this year of the Golden Camera 300 Special Award is Bruno Delbonnel. Delbonnel achieved fame as the cinematographer of two great films, “The Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain” and “A Very Long Engagement.”
Dante Spinotti, the renowned cinematographer and winner of many prestigious awards, will be honored for Lifetime Achievement.
The festival motto is “Keep on Watching,” which reminds us that film was born out of human curiosity and the yearning to discover new worlds. It is inspiring for both movie fans and movie makers.
