Wizz Air, the largest low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, has announced that it will enter the Macedonian market by opening a new route from Skopje to London-Luton, starting from 20 June. In the beginning, the flight will be operated three times a week.
József Váradi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air, said that Wizz Air was delighted to offer its services to Macedonian passengers. He expressed the hope that they might enjoy the truly affordable fares coupled with a great travel experience throughout the journey. He predicted that their market entry would not only boost the passenger traffic but also local businesses and employment.
Murat Örnekol, Operations Director of TAV Airports, the airport operator, stated that they were excited to cooperate with Wizz Air at the Alexander the Great Airport in Skopje. He echoed the expectation that passengers would have the pleasure of cost effective and agreeable flights, which would inevitably lead to increased passenger traffic.
