LAN Fest 2011 is a new technology event in Skopje, replacing the old Infokom conference of previous years in the calendar of notable technology exhibitions. LAN Fest consists of four sub-events designed to make it interesting and useful for exhibitors and visitors alike.
ICT Expo
The focal point of the event is the exhibition area, where companies present their latest products and services. Categories represented include:
- WAN services and equipment – providers, TeleExchange offices, management and security
- LAN and WLAN solutions and equipment as well as brands present on the local ICT market
- Passive and structured cabling technologies and products
- E-services, enterprise solutions and consultancy
- Outsourcing and offshore staffing services
- Financial software
- Leading hardware and software companies and distributors
- ICT education, literature and consultancy
- Satellite and GPS devices
- Locally developed products using interactive and innovative technologies
- Government projects – previous, current and future projects, as well as future agenda
- Digital lifestyle and multimedia
- Trade services
No retail sales will be allowed at the event.
LAN Fest Conference Agenda
In addition to direct presentation space, there are more than 80 ICT talks, presentations and training sessions offered by companies, ICT experts and government ministries. Some will be open to the public. Others will be limited to ticket holders and VIPs.
Digital Festival
The Digital Festival is a gathering of 500 computer devices networked in one place for a period of three days. This segment is a direct demonstration of all the technology needed to implement complex technical solutions in broadband networking, security systems and complex infrastructure management. Participants will experience a full agenda of workshops, ICT skills competitions, information and data sharing, and electronic sports games.
World Cyber Games Qualifying Event
The Macedonian e-Sports Federation is organizing the Macedonian qualifying event for the Electronic Sports World Cup. The best cyber-athletes will be sponsored to represent Macedonia in the disciplines of the e-Sports World Cup 2011 in Korea.
Recognition of the importance of technology to the present and future development of Macedonia is evident in the long list of local organizations and government ministries sponsoring this event. LAN Fest has been organized by LDMI (Learn, Develop and Manage Ideas), with support from the Ministry for Information Society and Administration, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Invest in Macedonia, the Chamber of Commerce, the Union of Chambers of Commerce, the City of Skopje, and the Agency of Youth and Sport.
