Located on Pirinska Street 35, very near the Russian Embassy in Skopje, there is a lovely Chinese restaurant known as Stars Ocean. It is the perfect place to have a healthy, balanced meal in a relaxed atmosphere designed in Chinese style. The background music is quite soothing and allows for a pleasant conversation, and the waiters are more than willing to help you decide what to choose . They are even nice about hoe they ask whether you want to use chopsticks.
To start with, we tried the restaurant’s Chinese salad, made with assorted Chinese mushrooms popular noodles. Next we tried chicken with vegetables and sweet and sour pork with pineapple. Both were delicious. If you are interested in mixed meat, there is a lovely choice: beef, pork and chicken with walnuts, almonds, peanuts and shrimps. It is an abundant well of flavors ready to satisfy your palate. These and many other tasty main dishes were reasonably priced from 3 to 6 Euros. There are many side dishes, rice and noodles to complement the mains.
Although the main dish together with the Chinese salad left us happily full, we could not resist the sweet temptation of the caramelized pineapples and bananas. Be sure to try the delicious fortune cookies. The inside hides an interesting message, which very much sounds like a proverb. These sweet pleasures vary from 1 to 2.5 Euros.
Since we’re thinking about healthy alternatives, skip the alcohol this time around and opt instead for a pot of steaming chinese tea. It goes great with the cuisine.
