Amica
is the Italian word for “a girlfriend”, which in a way, defines the characteristics of this restaurant. Amica is a friendly and suitable environment for relaxing conversations and fellowship with friends. But most importantly, the service is prompt and professional.
The restaurant is situated in perhaps Skopje’s most famous location; the central shopping centre on the square Macedonia, or more commonly known as GTC (which stands for Gradski Trgovski Centar). Amica can be found on the first floor overlooking the river Vardar. If you follow up the riverside spiral stairs case up the mall, you will find yourself at the restaurant.
The music is very relaxing and pleasant, but quiet enough to allow a sustained conversation without having to shout. At the same time, you can observe and experience the energy and movement happening beneath you in the coffee shops of Vardar.
The menu is rich in Italian recipes and will not disappoint those food lovers of both taste and garnishing. We ordered squid stuffed with potatoes, carrots, and broccoli. It was absolutely worth the money and definitely a treat for those of you fond of seafood.
We also wanted to try some of the pasta. We went with the gnocchi quattro formaggi,which is a pasta and sauce prepared within four different kinds of Italian cheese: Parmesan, Provolone, Asiago, and blue cheese. It was served warm and needless to say, it was very appetizing. You can also go for tagliateli with tomato sauce which was enriched with vegetables and of course a dash of basil. This is all best combined with a wine of your choice.
Concerning desserts, we must stress that you cannot go wrong with anything you choose! Whether it be an apple pie with 
ice-cream, pancakes with strawberry sauce, or ultimately anything you fancy on their well stocked menu. This portion is a well deserved treat to all your senses.
The list of beverages are varied, offering both Macedonian and imported alcohol as well as an assortment of your standard soft drinks.
Pricing is reasonable. The pasta dishes ran at about 280 denars. The beverages have the regular rates found in the other restaurants of the center.
The place is perfect for meeting friends, colleagues, and business partners if you want to have a comfortable uninterrupted meeting or conversation.
Amica was warm, welcoming, and an enjoyable dining experience. We enjoyed our ourselves and therefore, highly recommend it.
