This October, Macedonia will be showing it`s multicultural face to its citizens with thebest jazz festival in the Balkans, a ZZ Top concert, and “Ora bez Granici”. These events will definitely heat up the temperature of the cooling autumn month.
Lets start from beginning…
From the 1st to 5th of October, Skopje will be the center of the cultural happenings. “Ora bez Granici” (Dances without borders) is an internacional festival of national dances. For this event, dancing groups from all over the world will visit Skopje to share culture through dance, costumes, and songs that are typical from their home country. the festival will take place on the Square “Makedonija”. The citizens of our capital, for 5 days, will be able to enjoy the dances and taste the difference between the many nations of the world.

On the 2nd of October, Skopje will celebrate 60
years of ballet in Macedonia. for this occasion, in the big hall of The Opera House, there will be shown Gala Concert with many guest coming from France, Cuba, Italy, Turkey, Russia, and Macedonia.
The concert will start at 8 pm.
Also this year on the 11th, Macedonia will honor 68 years from the beginning of the fight against fascism. The night before, on the 10th in Prilep, there will reenactments from the uprising. Every year, the city of Prilep organizes special events to celebrate the memory of what happened in 1941. For Macedoninas, the 11th is a national holiday.
Skopje will be the center of the happenings again on the 22nd of October since it will be hosting the legendary rockers from Texas, ZZ Top.

They are considered to be one of the Top 10 best live performing bands and will visit Skopje after their concert in Sofija. ZZ Top is famous for their cowboy hats, ling hair, and even longer beards. Actually, two of the members have the longest beard in the history of rock music.
In their career, ZZ Top has published over 15 albums and 5 compilations, almost all of them have sold over 1 million copies. Their fans will be able to hear songs such as “Gimme All Your Lovin”, “Give it Up”, “Sharp Dressed Man”, “Viva Las Vegas”, and many other hits. The concert will be in the hall “Boris Trajkovski” and tickets can be bought in the music shop Jugoton.
Probably the hottest thing that will be happening in Macedonia in October is the Skopje Jazz Festival. from the 22nd to the 26th, Skopje will have a chance to hear one of the best jazz artists of our time.

en in “Dom na ARM” at 8:30 pm with “The Skopje Connection” which is a Macedonian-Italian trio who creates new music that is filled with powerful emotions and pure musicianship.
On 23rd and 24th, the festival will go into The Universal Hall starting from 8:30 and will continue at Hard Rock after midnight. This year, Skopje will enjoy the sounds of the Scandinavian Marlyn Mazur and her group, The Brad Mehldau Trio from the US, and one of the hottest names of The New York Jazz scene, James Carter Quintet.
On the 25th, the festival will take place in the Macedonian Opera House and will be closed in universal Hall with Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke & Lenny White “Power of the Three”.
